What do a street called Short Street, a hundred steps and a sculpture called, “Friendships Made” have in common? They all refer to a school with a humble beginning and a rich heritage, a school which has withstood change and emerged as a bastion where friendships are made, and godly girls nobly run their race.
Today, the distinctiveness of our school lies in its students and the alumnae who stand as godly women of excellence with a heart of love. After all, if “education is what remains after one has forgotten everything he learned in school” (Albert Einstein), it suffices to say that the illustrious alumnae of our school bears testimony to the sterling brand of education of MGS. While our current students continue to excel in both studies and co-curricular activities, our alumnae have already made their mark as women of substance and contributors to society.
With globalization and rapid changes, the curriculum in MGS is appropriately dynamic so that the school keeps pace with the change of time. Our wide ranging curriculum ensures that the talented are groomed; it takes into consideration the potential in every girl and includes programmes that take the girls to the different realms of authentic and experiential learning. Ours is a curriculum that reaches beyond academic achievements. In fact, we take pride in educating the whole person in a Christian environment in order that our girls “grow in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and Man”.
As the MGS girl sojourns within our walls at Blackmore Drive, she enjoys the wholesome, holistic education that is planned for her. Anchored by a staff that is highly regarded in the professional community and supported firmly by our stakeholders and partners, MGS ensures that the learning journey of our girls is exciting and fulfilling.
In the knowledge that “great vision precedes great achievement”, we welcome you into our MGS community where our vision is shared and supported by our students past and present, and where our hearts are united in our appreciation of the debt of love we hold for and owe our dear MGS. Journey with us into the future as we continue to master, to grow and to serve!
