MGS is special because of its spiritual emphasis. The chapel services and the daily devotions at the start of each day remind MGS girls that in the midst of all the hustle and bustle, we always have God to lean on. Every morning, MGS girls and their teachers are inspired to give of their best, and to make the most of the day for the glory of God.
The love that abounds in the school touches everybody, regardless of nationality, race or religion. At MGS, all feel valued and loved.
The school provides a total education by `educating the whole person in a Christian environment in order that she may grow in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.’ The school motto, `To Master, To Grow, To Serve’ sums up the school philosophy. Emphasis is placed on the mastery of what is important in life, such as intellectual, physical and social skills; the focus is on the development of morally upright, and spiritually and emotionally mature persons who are well-adjusted individuals who dedicate their life in service to the community, the nation and the world. There is a very strong Christian ethos at MGS and the girls are encouraged to excel in academic and sporting endeavours, to always give of their personal best. Leadership, confidence, responsibility, respect, resilence and integrity are some of the qualities cultivated in the MGS girl, and the curricular and co-curricular programmes provide the arena for the development of the whole person. The school values of excellence, godliness and love are imparted both formally and informally, through the culture of the school. The school’s vision is to produce `Godly Women of Excellence with a Heart of Love.’
