On Friday 18 April, Nicole Lim, Minerva Lim and Alexa Lai (all from Sec 2T) and their teacher-mentor, Mrs Lam Mei Kien, made a trip to the Suntec City Convention Hall to participate in the Citi Ideas In Action Judging. The programme, hosted by Citi, the Learning Society and supported by the Ministry of Education, provides funding in the form of grants for both students and teachers wishing to embark on projects to promote innovation and enterprise. This was the 6th year that MGS has been shortlisted for the grant.
Citi Ideas in Action awards grants based on the creative process as well as the innovative and entrepreneurial thinking displayed in the project plan submitted by each team.

The MGS team made a detailed presentation of their project, Micropropagation of Sundew Drosera filiformis to two captured judges, and at the end of it, Mrs Lam was all smiles. Two weeks later they received $700 from Citi Foundation as funding for their project!
