Softball

Softball is a team sport closely related to baseball. This challenging and exciting game involves various skills such as

• batting,
• throwing,
• catching,
• fielding,
• pitching, and
• base running.

In MGS, softballers value team spirit, and train hard together in the hope of achieving a common goal - with God’s help and guidance, to do our best in every match/competition in which we participate.

Through the training and matches, there are many opportunities for character building and attaining values such as teamwork and determination. Members are taught specific skills by professional coaches. Training sessions are fun, and team members forge lasting ties with one another.

Annual competitions include:

• Inter-School Zonal competitions,
• Inter-School National competitions, and
• SRC (Singapore Recreational Club) Softball Carnival.

Occasional friendly matches are conducted with different schools to give team members more experience. These competitions also enrich learning and allow team members to apply what they have learnt to practice.

An enjoyable three-day camp is conducted annually and involves training and interesting games that promote team spirit.
