Dear Fellow Alumna

The school year is drawing to a close and we have one last major activity before we also take a break for the end of year holidays – yes, the Fun Fair on 23rd October 2008.

What used to be the Mini Fair has been upgraded to a “Fun Fair” for the obvious reason – more food, activities, games and people! The Alumnae “Good as New Stall” has expanded, growing out of the Alumnae Room into the area outside and into the concourse. Apart from selling the stuff you have all so graciously donated to us from your yearly spring cleaning, we also have a Christmas tree lucky draw which is immensely popular with the primary school girls and our ‘Red Bag’ sale for the champion shoppers (put as much as you can into the red bag for $10).

So if you haven’t already emptied your closets of the things that you don’t need but are new or in good condition, please do so at once – bring them to the school – leave them outside the Alumnae Room before 20th October so that we can sort and price them. You are also welcome to come and help with the sorting – believe me, it is a mammoth task which we undertake every year! But it is good fun and we can use all the help we can get.

I am sure many of you have had reunions this year with your friends from school. Please share your photos and memories with us – or if any of you have started blogs, Facebook sites or yahoo websites please let us know so that we can tell everyone where to find you. If you have gone to our Alumnae website you will notice that we have revamped the pages so that we can include more news about our Alumna – but we can’t do that unless you tell us what’s been happening. So please email us at mgsalumnae@gmail.com.

We also would like to welcome our new members who have joined the Alumnae this year. Whether or not you have kids coming to school, we hope that you will join us for fun and fellowship. The Past vs Present Games is a great way to renew sporting friendships and provides friendly competition with the students. And for those of you who will have little ones in Primary One next year (2009), we hope that you will join us as we undertake various activities in school. For example, there is a monthly prayer meeting at the Alumnae Room every 2nd Monday of the month.

As a final note, I hope that you have had a blessed year, one filled with positive experiences and that you will be refreshed during the holiday season. Let’s not forget to thank God for seeing us through this school year and continue to give Him thanks and praise for His Divine presence in our lives.

God bless!
